April 9, 2015 – Tampa, FL Vology, Inc., a $180 million provider of IT management solutions comprising virtualization, storage and networking hardware and IT services, announced today it has been selected by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a recipient of the fifth iteration of Solutions for Enterprise-Wide Procurement (SEWP V), a multi-award Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) vehicle focused on information technology products and product-based services.
“The Vology team is very pleased to be named a prime contract holder and expand our support of federal government agencies through the NASA SEWP V contract,” stated John O’Shea, Vology president and executive sponsor of Vology’s SEWP V team. “Our team was successful in demonstrating the value of Vology’s expertise in networking and virtualization technologies as federal agencies evolve into a new age of software-defined data centers and virtual infrastructures.”
NASA SEWP V is the largest procurement vehicle for IT products for the federal government and was last open for capture more than 10 years ago. Vology expects to add staff immediately in program management roles; additional jobs created will depend on contract volume.
Vology was named a contract recipient in the Networking, Security, Video and Conference Tools category. The contract will have a 10-year effective ordering period, including a five-year base period from May 1 to April 31, 2020, and one five-year option to extend the period of performance through April 30, 2025. This 10-year contract has a ceiling value of $20 billion, and is open to all NASA centers, federal agencies and other government contractors for the procurement of state-of-the-art computer technologies, high-end scientific and engineering processing capabilities, computer peripherals and networking equipment. SEWP V will create a government-wide capability to gain access to state-of-the-art technology and services, which will be deployed globally.
Vology worked closely with a number of strategic OEM partners to offer a comprehensive and diverse technology offering for the government. Technology from Brocade Networks, Citrix, HP, Aruba Networks and Juniper Networks were featured in the offering in addition to other OEMs.
SEWP V contracts streamline the process of providing federal agencies with state-of-the-art tablets, desktops and servers; IT peripherals; network equipment; storage systems; security tools; software products; cloud-based services; video conferencing systems and other IT and audio-visual products; as well as related services such as installation, training and maintenance.
