Vology Data System's Donates Services to St. Petersburg
As part of their continuing initiative to assist in bridging the budget shortfall felt by municipalities and school districts Vology Data Systems has donated $1.1-million worth of networking equipment to The City of St. Petersburg.
As IT requirements grow and budgets stagnate Vology Data Systems recognized an opportunity to help by providing leading-edge IT equipment and services to the community.
“As the city faces curtailed funds for 2012, the equipment that Vology provided allows us to keep step with the ever increasing IT demands to serve our citizens.” say Muslim Gadiwalla, Chief Information Officer for the City of St. Petersburg.
“With growing budget shortfalls for the areas municipalities and schools we recognized that we were in a unique position to help,” said Vology CEO, Barry Shevlin. “We have grown our business in this community over the last 10 years and felt we had the opportunity to provide a piece of the solution for the widening budget gap.”
With the help of County Commissioner Susan Latvala, Vology presented the plan to donate a high-end networking solution to a group of officials from Pinellas, Hillsborough and Pasco. The idea was met with enthusiasm and the Pinellas County School District, as well as The City of St. Petersburg, has taken delivery of this equipment.
Mr. Shevlin continued, “The more schools and municipalities can keep us informed on their issues, upcoming projects and budget shortages, the more we can and will help with solutions like this.”
