OLDSMAR, Fla. – (Nov. 15, 2012) – Vology, a global provider of new and certified pre-owned networking and telecommunication solutions, today announced that it has earned listings on the GSA Schedule 70 to sell new and certified pre-owned equipment to the agencies of the federal government.
Vology was thoroughly vetted during the eight-month process to earn its listings on GSA Schedule 70. This opens the doors for government agencies to save time and money when making IT decisions.
“This gives government agencies a mechanism to stretch their budgets in their time of need,” says Barry Shevlin, CEO of Vology. “It is a nice endorsement to be viewed by the federal government as a company with strong enough quality control systems to provide certified pre-owned equipment to government agencies.”
Schedule 70 is the largest, most widely used acquisition vehicle in the federal government. Vology’s listing allows the company to offer its products and services at volume discount pricing in the special identification number categories 132-8 and 132-9, effective now through April 15, 2017. Within the annual federal budget, IT-related expenditures account for the largest percentage – larger than construction and transportation, for example. Being on the list helps government organizations in many ways, but the primary reason is the deep discounts they receive on certified pre-owned equipment. Organizations now have a feasible option compared to the high cost of owning new IT equipment. Additionally, buying agencies speed up the process of obtaining the technology solutions they need because they don’t have to go through the arduous three-bid process.
Vology, which had to have its financials audited and pass certain long-term operational standards to be considered for the listings, will offer new products as the sole distributor of cables and GBICs from Gencom. It also will provide certified pre-owned products from providers such as Cisco, Avaya, and Extreme Networks. Vology has more than 7,000 SKUs in its GSA schedule 70 catalog.
Many state government agencies and educational organizations also will benefit from Vology’s listings because it allows them to skip the three-bid process and purchase technology directly from a GSA-approved provider.
Ranked in the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in the U.S. for seven consecutive years, Vology is a leading global technology solutions provider that serves tens of thousands of customers across 80 countries. Vology has one of the industry’s largest inventories of top quality new and certified pre-owned manufacturer products, including Cisco, Juniper Networks, Brocade, Extreme Networks, Avaya, HP, Palo Alto, and ShoreTel. Vology provides same-day and next-day shipping on most items as well as flexible purchasing and leasing terms. The company offers total IT asset lifecycle management expertise to help customers power their enterprises as their technology requirements evolve. Vology is headquartered in the Tampa Bay area, with offices in Syracuse, Denver, Sacramento, Austin, New York City and Oklahoma City.
