Cisco Systems offers a family of Fast Ethernet Port Adapters optimized for the specific requirements of high-performance collapsed backbones, high-density connectivity and Token Ring ISL network topologies. Four port adapter options provide either one or two ports of 100BaseTX or 100BaseFX Fast Ethernet ports per adapter. Each port can be configured for half- and full-duplex operation.Cisco's Fast Ethernet Port Adapters may be inserted into an open bay within Cisco's Second Generation Versatile Interface Processor (VIP2) for Cisco 7500 systems or Cisco 7000 systems equipped with the RSP7000 processor, or directly into an open port adapter slot on Cisco's 7200 series routers. Transportability between these systems simplifies ordering and minimizes overall support and sparing costs.
