Brocade MLX system management module, 4 GB SDRAM Memory, 2 GB internal compact flash memory, external compact flash slot, EIA/TIA-232 and 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports for out-of-band management.
Designed for use with Brocade’s MLX Series routers, this new Brocade BR-MLX-MR2-M Management Module controls hardware components, provides the real-time operating system and runs network protocols. While each router only needs one management module, a second module provides the network with an effective backup in case the active module becomes unavailable.
The high-powered Brocade BR-MLX-MR2-M Management Module features 4 GB of SDRAM, 2 GB of internal compact flash and an external compact flash slot. Meanwhile, on-board interfaces include one EIA/TIA-232 port and one 10/100/1000 Ethernet port for out-of-band management. For ease-of-use, these management modules are hot-swappable, allowing you to remove and replace them without shutting down the system. Of course, software on the modules should be upgraded to the appropriate release before installation. When powered on, the module features six easy-to-read LEDs for simplified management.
A key component in the MLX Series router’s ability to meet massive bandwidth demands, the Brocade BR-MLX-MR2-M Management Module is a Gen2 module for use in 4-, 8-, and 16-slot systems. Keep in mind that MR and MR2 modules cannot be mixed in the same chassis.
